Moscow Metro System Map

The Moscow Metro is the first and largest rapid transit system in the USSR, Russia, and the CIS, and the largest in Europe by route length. Its first line — Sokolnicheskaya — was ceremonially opened on May 15, 1935, initially serving 13 stations.

As of 2021, the metro network comprises 14 lines with a total length of 435.7 km (excluding the Monorail and Moscow Central Circle). It includes 250 stations, 3 of which are under reconstruction ('Rizhskaya', 'Varshavskaya', 'Kashirskaya'), 48 are officially recognized cultural heritage sites, and over 40 are architectural monuments.
